My name is Eoghan Conmey.
I am a freelance photographer specializing in landscape, architectural, product and live event photography.
My passion and appreciation for photography go back as far as I can remember, but I only came to dedicate a lot of my life to it after purchasing my first DSLR camera in 2008. Ever since, it has become an expensive, time consuming obsession of mine (often to the annoyance of my girlfriend!) If I am not out with my camera shooting, I can usually be found researching lenses, reading up on the history of photography or hunting for new inspiration from all kinds of sources.
I graduated with a BA (Honours) Degree in Visual Communication from the University of Wolverhampton in 2011. Since that time, I have been pursuing my passion for photography by travelling around and capturing some of the majestic landscapes and buildings that this country has to offer. They are often overlooked by people here when preparing for holidays, but I feel that this land can deliver in spectacular fashion and in all weather conditions.
Please browse my portfolio to see a collection of my personal and commercial work. Feel free to contact me should you require any further information, or even if you would just like to let me know of a scenic spot off the beaten track that I can investigate!
My main inspirations when it comes to photography are:
Andreas Gursky and his large format, almost obsessively symmetrical pieces.
William Eggleston with his vividly coloured, spontaneous shots.
And lastly, but by no means least – The legendary Ansel Adams, whose astonishing works would be done an injustice by me trying to describe them with words. A long time has passed since Ansel last pressed a shutter button, but still nobody has come close to matching the sheer power and drama of his landscape photographs from the American West. Put simply, when it comes to photographing nature, he was (and still is) the king.
